MT. EVEREST (ABC) NORTH COL EXPEDITION to 7000m - 14 days The world's highest trek Thinking of climbing Everest on the north side in Tibet one day? Want to test yourself at altitude? Or, perhaps just you’re just curious? Photo: Nelson Dellis (Advanced Base Camp Everest, Tibet) This is an excellent opportunity for experienced climbers to gain some altitude experience without the large financial and time investment in a summit climb. An opportunity to climb to just over 7000M. You will join up with the expedition team members and then fly over the Himalayas to Lhasa in Tibet to commence proper acclimatization before making our way to Everest Base Camp. ROUTE DESCRIPTION This expedition starts with the flight from Kathmandu to Lhasa with China Air. After base camp set-up and proper acclimatization is attained climbers will commence the 22 km walk from Base Camp at 5200m to Advanced base camp at 6400M over two days. Several days are spent at ABC in order to fully acclimatize. The route is basically a straight forward trail up moraine to the East Rongbuk Glacier, which lead to the fixed ropes. The descent takes about three hours. The North Col is a large area where all expeditions make Camp I and from here there are incredible views of the entire North Face of Everest, the West Rongbuk Glacier, Lho La, Pumori and Cho Oyo. This is a very rewarding non technical climb at altitude. This
expedition is designed specifically to help promote “Low Risk”
mountain experiences to our customers and
Sherpa staff. It’s
an endeavour to help offer employment alternatives to our Sherpa teams who are
at risk working the ice-fall on Everest south side in Nepal. The negative
impact of climate change in the Himalayas is putting second generation
Sherpa guides and their families at risk. We are looking at a variety of options
to safely continue working and playing in the magical Himalayas. On this
expedition, we take our Sherpa staff from the Khumbu region (Everest, Nepal) to
Tibet. They will travel overland from Kathmandu with our camp equipment. You
will fly from Kathmandu to Lhasa, Tibet. After a a couple days touring and
acclimatizing in the city and area outside of Lhasa, you’ll begin an overland tour
overland tour by jeep to Everest base camp. Our team of Sherpas will have the
comforts base camp set-up waiting your arrival. After resting
and adjusting to the new heights, you cant test yourself higher climbing up two
more camps to reach the base off the North Col at 7000m. With weather and luck
on your side, you’ll
be in the heat of the action around Everest summit time. COST
You can make this trek with a group
or private with your family, friends and colleagues.
